Nayer Sabbaghi
I’m Nayer Sabbaghi, originally from Urmia, Iran. I earned my Master’s in Curriculum Development before moving to Canada in 2015, where I became an Early Childhood Educator (ECE). My journey as an author began when my son, Daniel, was three years old, during my ECE studies. I’m beyond excited to finally share this book with you, and I look forward to many more stories to come. I’m deeply grateful for your interest and support. This book is a labour of love, created with my husband, Ahssan Moshref, our son, Daniel, and the talented artists. We hope to invite children and parents to explore the world’s wonders together.

Daniel Moshref
Hi, I’m Daniel Moshref, and I was born in Canada. In Daniel and Mimi Nature, I drew the bees for the paste-down of the book and the three flowers featured in the flyleaf of the book. One of my favourite things to do is watch Naruto with my dad—it’s my all-time favourite anime. I also love to draw and express my creativity through art.

Early Learner Advocate
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Early Learner Advocate, the playtime expert, the imagination guide, the curious explorer: Mrs. Karen Janeway, Mrs. Throness, Dr. Alireza Ayoubi, and Hamid Moshref for reviewing this book. Their thoughtful insights and constructive feedback were incredibly valuable and helped us make the book even better. We deeply appreciate their support and encouragement throughout this journey.
Mother Nature
Hello Tree
Whenever Daniel’s dad would go for a walk, he would pause by a tree, rest his hand gently on its trunk, and say, “Hello, Tree.” He would leave his hand for a few seconds to exchange positive energy. He always encouraged Daniel to show respect by greeting trees as well. This simple act of acknowledging nature became a special ritual, which we’ve included in the book to inspire a sense of appreciation for the natural world.
Mimi Sun
Mimi Eggs
Daniel loved surprise eggs—not just for the chocolate, but for the surprise inside. Since the chocolate wasn’t the healthiest option, Nayer created an alternative: wrapping small toys in paper, play dough, or foil for Daniel to guess. The activity helps develop fine motor skills as children peel back layers or manipulate materials. It also enhances problem-solving, encourages imagination, and fosters curiosity. In the book, we celebrate this through a ‘lift-the-flap’ activity.

Daniel and Mimi Nature is a delightful children’s book that beautifully blends education and entertainment.
Each page is a visual treat, making it easy for kids to stay engaged and eager to explore what’s next. The illustrations are not only colorful and imaginative but also thoughtfully crafted to support the learning concepts on each page.
As a parent, one of the most heartwarming experiences was watching my 7-year-old enthusiastically read this book to my 2-year-old. Their interaction—filled with giggles, questions, and shared discoveries—was a perfect example of how the book encourages bonding and cooperative learning between siblings. Such a wonderful read.

A Journey of Curiosity and Discovery,
This delightful book was gifted to me by a colleague of mine, and I cannot recommend it enough for parents and caregivers aiming to inspire a love for learning in their little ones. The author has created a treasure trove of activities designed to spark curiosity and nurture essential skills in children.
From the very first page, this book invites young readers into a world of wonder. The combination of engaging questions, creative activities, rhymes, and fun facts captivates children’s attention and encourages them to explore their surroundings. The use of vibrant illustrations and interactive elements, such as lift-the-flaps and shape matching, makes learning feel like an exciting adventure rather than just another educational task.
One of the standout features of this book is its ability to weave essential early literacy, cognitive, and math skills into playful scenarios. My son absolutely loves this book, and we are proud to have it on our bookshelf. ❤

As Daniel’s former teacher, it has been a delight to watch this book come to life. From the concept to the final product, it has been a labour of love. I love interactive books that also draw on the personal experiences of the target audience. Books that encourage children and families to seek out the wonders of nature are invaluable. I would encourage all young families to enjoy this book. I have always committed to buying books as gifts and I would definitely recommend “Daniel and Mimi Nature”. Beautifully crafted, both inside and out.
